Resolved Validation Failure

    As Bill said, unless you have a sticker on the case that has the product key on it for you to use then yes you will most likely have to buy a new license for Windows XP.

    Just to make sure that there is not a problem with your Windows installation you can perform a validation check here, Genuine Windows Validation. If the validation check fails then we will know that the product key is not valid.

    I don't have a sticker that I can find. Thanks for all the help. I'm contacting MS to get a hold of a valid product key.

    Ok cool. Once you get a valid product key that is genuine, then make sure you install Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3.
