    Hi guys

It is many years since i use Ms Win Server. My last encounter is way back in Win Server 03 and hence bit rusty in this direction.

I now have a Server running ms Win Server 2012 and planning to use UNC in an VB6 Application. Here a few things to confirm and need your help.

    1. With win Server, all PC in the network join into the Domain, not a WorkGroup. This means that we either use Domain or WorkGroup, not both. We choose to join the Domain as it is the reason why we want to use Win Server.
    2. As a member of the Domain, any user can see the rest of users n the Domain, is that right or is there any caveat.
    3. We can name the server pc as any name we want, is that right eg MyData ?
    4. We can then use UNC to get to any shared folder using its UNC path eg \\MyData\SharedFolder
    :D:D

    Guys what i just found
    1. UNC can be access in my coding
    2. Without join a domain or workgroup, all devices do not show in Network.
    3. I can map any UNC as a drive which will appear in the PC as a drive.
    Any best practice to suggest!
