Though I expected to go with Win 7, I actually ended up with Win 8 Pro Full. This decision was based on 8 being less expensive, faster, more secure and will be updated beyond the time of Win 7. Once I get used to it, I'm sure I won't want to change to something else. It is just a matter of getting used to it. I plan to use Start8 with Win 8 64 bit. What types of problems might I experience in using my old programs with a 64 bit OS (ie MS Office Pro 2007 & Adobe CS3)?

Luckily, Photoshop, is the only program I use in that suite, and that is one of the few that works with Win8. MS is a bit vague about Office 2007, but I'll hope for the best.
    Thanks for the links.

    You're welcome.

64-bit versions of Windows automatically run 32-bit programs in the 32-bit layer of Windows.

Does that mean that all 32 bit programs will run with a 64 bit OS?

64-bit versions of Windows can run both 64-bit and 32-bit programs.

32-bit versions of Windows can run both 32-bit and 16-bit programs.

64-bit versions of Windows cannot run 16-bit programs.

I don't believe I run any 16 bit programs, so that sounds fine.
