    USB 2 should work on any XP installation, and believe me it is so much faster than USB 1, you should continue working on it untill you get it fixed. Although most USB 2 devices are backward compatible with USB 1, the difference in speed will be worth the continued effort to get it working.

    If your motherboard is USB 2 capable, the drivers will be on the motherboard CD or the system CD.
