I keep getting websites appearing when I am on-line. :( Do anyone else have this problem and if so, have you been able to resolve the problem?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

My guess is that your computer is infected - read this and post the logs requested in this thread (moved to Malware & Virus Removal forum) along with a few examples.

Problems with unwanted websites popping up

    PeteC
I have done many checks for viruses and keep my protection up to date along with a firewall. So I think that rules that out. Thanks.:)

There is plenty of malware that evades antivirus software, but it's your call obviously :)

Do you have the popup blocker in IE enabled or use another blocker such as that in the Google Toolbar?

    Unwanted websites appearing

    PeteC,
I have three pop-up blockers. On on Google and the other on Comcast, plus the one on McAfee. I keep them on all the time, unless I absolutely have to turn them off and usually just turning one off for a website is all I need. But I am still having the problem with all of them turned on. :(
    Thanks for that idea! :)

    Sharons49,

It still wouldn't cause any harm to post the requested logs, as Pete has said it's your decision but without providing more detailed information there's not a lot members can do to help you. Those logs may pick up something that your current security software is missing.

Please read this and post the requested logs. I should add that the people in this forum can be quite busy at times but I'm sure your post will be picked up by one of the experts.
