Today on starting computer, a caption was loaded on screen.
    192.168.0.1. Tool_Trouble Shoot.
Run> completes cycle - displays 100% done. Could not fix the problem.
Nothing appears to have been changed. What is the purpose? How can it be removed? Has anyone also been installed with this unknown software? Bobby.

That is an IP address for a router. Have you been trying to access your router?

I don't use the router, or know how too. My Internet Provider, supplied and installed a new more up to date Modem last week. Caption only started today, is this the cause?

Will do so, thanks. Terrible experience contacting them, understanding the poor English.

We have the same problem with most that we call here or them ROBO calls. I keep them on line for a few minutes and the wife gets mad at me.

Contacted Virgin, between understanding accent, it appears fault lies entirely with my computer and not their equipment. He suggested contacting their help service, with a charge or my contacting a computer engineer.

Standard procedure. Virgin especially. If they don't know, don't understand or just can't be bothered, blame anyone, anything but themselves.

Can you check the web for any Virgin users Forum. Often the posts on such Forums are very helpful and more than make up for the incompetence of so many "help" lines.

Contacted Virgin help 150, person of foreign origin and anything other than being helpful, insisted it was my computer completely at fault, as their end showed no fault. Due to conversation becoming rather heated on his part, decided to terminate conversation. Any past contacts with Virgin, I would say only 1-10 ended satisfactory. It appears that phoning 150 is the only means of contact, God for bid it. Perhaps someone at BBSwindows has found a sure hassle free contact -- there is one I believe, but it costs a leg+.

192.168.0.1 appears it refers to me, reason of window that opens each bootup and suppose to fix any errors, which it can't.

I made an on line check with a ping for 192.168.0.1., this shows as Chennai-IN and not referenced by Virgin to be for my new modem fitted by them last week. What is going on?

As soon as you turn on your PC and it finishes booting up, are you connected to the internet?

Bill, the Internet takes roughly minute after boot up. Then this Window in question pops up. I notice that Virgin Forum suggest to reinstall Modem HUB 3.0. by inserting an opened up paper clip into the small hole located at back of Modem HUB 3.0. for 60 seconds, this is supposed to reconfigure HUB 3.0 settings. Unfortunately, I never had the need to carry out this procedure with the previous Virgin modem ( to be honest, should have kept old modem, but according to them, told HUB 3.0. is far superior - I right). What incurs changing modem settings? Password?

Resetting (paper clip into the small hole) the modem/router would reset settings to the default name (if the name of the network has been altered) and password (if the password has been altered). The default name and password should be on a label on the modem/router. This means that logging in to the modem/router should be no problem if other settings have been altered. I assume that you have made no such changes ... ... right?

Christer thanks for response, nothing has been changed or altered since Virgin Engineer installed the UB.3. modem. To be honest, never or do I know the correct procedure. Note: Entering the 192.168.0.1 in Internet Explorer>Enter> screen shows " this site is not secure" This might mean that someone trying to fool you or steal any information you send to the server. You should close this site immediately. Close this tab.

I would do a simple switch off the Router/Modem at the wall socket. Wait up to 30 seconds then switch it back on and wait for it reconnect.
I would do that first before a Reset with the paper clip trick.;)
