I am an XP user.I could see 40 files and 14 hidden objects in my C Drive, now hidden files has increased to 27.When I go to folder options and uncheck "hide protected OS files" and then check, "show hidden files and folders ",then also i can't see the hidden files. Is it problem of any virus.Earlier i had problem with virus and scanned my PC with super Antispyware and DrWeb by taking refrence from the forum. Also i went to regedit and made the value of Hidden to 1.Still can't see the hidden files.

With a little more effort i solved this problem.Using Regedit CURRENT_USER: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL and it works. But still wanted to confirm for viruses as it was earlier infected but before running DDS,I was not able to disable McFee Antivirus.Right clicking the taskbar i can't go to the security centre of McFee.Need your guidance.
