Resolved Unable To Install Win XP Pro.SP2 On Compaq Presario

    I copied the files off of the disk The first test with the CD-ROM(LTN403) no problem. The second test with the CD-ROM(LTN403) the copy process stopped or hung before it could complete. The two tests performed with the CD-R/RW(Sony CRX160E) both times the copy process stopped or hung before it could complete. Just like the install processes were doing.

    Repeat the test on a different computer. Still problems, then the CD is bad. If not, it may be something with Your opticals or the drivers/firmware.

    I disconnected all non essential hardware and the OS installed without a hitch. Thanks to all who responded.
