[Unable to install anti-virus software]

System info: Lenovo 535 Desktop computer (correct model # if needed)

The computer is just over 1 month old and it had a trail version of Mc Afee installed on it. During the past month I've had nothing but redirects and pop-ups while online.

While trying to adapt to the new Windows 8.1 desktop I (in frustration) clicked on anything and everything to close the pop-ups and redirects.

I did buy the downloadable version of Mc Afee but even with there phone assistance was not able to install the program. (started to install but never completed). I then tried to install MSE .. it started to install but never completed the install.

I also tried to install "SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition" it ran and showed many many problems. I checked to correct all problems but when I looked at the log file it only listed a few entries.

I then tried to run the "Bit Defender Rescue CD" but was not successful.

 

Sounds like your computer may be infected with some type of malware, (malicious software). Recommend starting with these instructions and then posting the requested log(s) in our Malware and Virus Removal forum.
