[Active] Trying to clean up a friend's computer from virus

My friend let AV expire and the unit now has viruses. The unit cannot connect to internet to get clean up thus I offered to help but have not booted the unit yet.

I have ASquared, HiJackThis, SuperAntiSpyware and Comodo Firewall/AV on a flash drive to attack the problem but would like support suggestion in what to do first.

    Thanks in advance.

To do that, the files would have to be copied to a flash drive which would be used to send files from my computer and I would be at risk for virus, wouldn't I. ??

Thanks for the useful link but problem has been fixed.
Attempted runs of DDS and mbam were unsuccessful but gave clue that "Security Tool" was the beast as it stated the programs were worms. Renaming the security tool exe file gave an operational unit and Superantispyware was installed to clean up the mess.
Comodo security software has been installed. Interesting to note that upon removal of Norton 360, it stated that it had 21 more days of trial but did not detect any virus.

a² free found additional 10 medium risk cookie files but could not delete them. A new thread will be started with that information sometime after Thanksgiving as I'm leaving the area for Turkey day.

    Happy Thanksgiving. :)
