Advice most appreciated. Out of the blue, a caption screen informed me that my computer was Trojan infected and to use their software to clean up. Software carried a fee of $30.
My question is, does Windows 7 Essential Security sufficient to alert on a Trojan invasion of computer and able to clean up Trohans?
W7ES, certainly reports my computer is free from viruses etc. Thank you.

Thank you for prompt assistance, most appreciated.
I have downloaded Mirror1, and see what information it gives.
As you say Windows SE is not as reliable, what is a good
software title that will reliably check and remove such Trojans etc
    attacks.
    Regards.

I down loaded Spyware Doctor (PC Tools) that gives a free scan.
According to Spyware Doctor, computer is free from malicious downloads
    and computer is clean.
Other software that I mentioned, apperently printed out on monitor a list of Trojans in an effort to make me buy their software.
Certainly your help has been appreciated.

You state "and that means what! ", that I sincerely hope a free virus computer. Am I wrong to think this? as I certainly depend on professional software to show up any attacks in my computer.
Is PC Spy Doctor reliable? or just a ply by the author to sell this title at any cost?
What are your views on this topic? and if better software are available.
Thank you for wishing me luck! at times we certainly all need it.
    Regards, BobbyScot.

What Arie is pointing out is that although the 2 apps you note give a clean bill of health that may not be the case. Each app has it's limitations and searches in a different manner and has different capabilities.

Do yourself a favour and follow Arie's advice in post #6 - it's quite painless :)
