    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste Instructions for Items to be Movedwindow (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Click the red Moveit! button.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar) to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it in your next reply.
    • Close OTM and reboot your PC.

    Note: If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes. In this case, after the reboot, open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.

    How much RAM do you have?

    Please download OTC to your desktop. It'll remove most tools and logs we used so far. If any tool, file or folder (belonging to the program we have used) hasn't been deleted, please delete it manually.

    • Double-click OTC.exe to run it. (Vista and 7 users, please right click on OTC and select "Run as an Administrator ")
    • Click on the CleanUp! button and follow the prompts.
    • You will be asked to reboot the machine to finish the Cleanup process, choose Yes. If it doesn't ask you to reboot, restart computer manually.
    • After the reboot all the tools we used should be gone.
    • The tool will delete itself once it finishes.

    Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
    • Run JavaRa.exe (Vista users! Right click on JavaRa.exe, click Run As Administrator), pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
    • Accept any prompts.
    • Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
    • Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

    Note 1: UNCHECK any pre-checked toolbar and/or software offered with the Java update. The pre-checked toolbars/software are not part of the Java update.

    Note 2: The Java Quick Starter (JQS.exe) adds a service to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. If you don't want to run another extra service, go to Start > Control Panel > Java > Advanced > Miscellaneous and uncheck the box for Java Quick Starter. Click OK and restart your computer.

    I don't see any real AV program running on your computer.
    McAfee Security Scan Plus is only on-demand scanner.
    You need AV program, which works in real time.

    Uninstall McAfee Security Scan Plus.

    Download and install one of these:

    - Avira free antivirus: http://www.free-av.com/en/download/1/avira_antivir_personal__free_antivirus.html
    - Avast! free antivirus: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

    - free Comodo Internet Security (firewall + AV): http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/
    NOTE. During installation, Comodo will also allow you to install AV only, or firewall only, if you prefer to combine one Comodo product with some other product.

    If you decide to install Avast, or Avira, make sure, Windows firewall is turned on, or use Comodo firewall..
    If you decide to install Comodo Internet Security, or just Comodo firewall, make sure, Windows firewall is turned off.

    IMPORTANT! Make sure, you use only ONE antivirus, and ONE firewall.

    First attempt to open internet explorer seems to always hang up. System just stops. Windows sends a report. the when i retry internet explorer asks if I want to open the last failed session? Could I have lost a file?

    Disable TeaTimer, as it'll interfere with the cleaning process:
    Right click Spybot's TeaTimer System Tray Icon.
    Click Exit Spybot-S&D Resident.
    TeaTimer closes.
    NOTE. If on re-boot, Spybot inquires about registry change(s), allow it.

    Alternatively, I suggest, you uninstall Spybot since it's a tool of the past.

    1. Turn off System Restore:

    - Windows XP:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the System Restore tab.
    4. Check "Turn off System Restore ".
    5. Click Apply.
    6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
    7. Click OK.
    - Windows Vista:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
    4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
    5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
    6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C: ")
    7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
    8. Click OK

    Computer is much faster. no more drag. Internet does not lock up either. Thanks you SO much.

    One more question, my hard drive still says I have all my files but I can not find them. I have about three admin profiles, none have any files. I remember thereis a tick in safe mode to move your files from a locked folder to a current folder, any thoughts?

    After the after this computer went through recovery no files show up, but the hard drive still show files exist. If I go into safe mode I can see all my files in one of the three administratos\ files. he ld on, the new one (created by rcovery) and the one created by the virus/trojan.

    I found this article on the HP site , I'll try that and let you know.
