Resolved "This folder is empty" error message

    The fast navigation through Windows Explorer is continuing. Like I said I feel like I just got a new computer. I'm sure there is plenty of good hardware out there that will run quite smoothly on Aero, but for me there's no going back and no comparison--without Aero this computer is blazing fast, so i'll keep it that way. I guess that was the problem.

    Anyways, thanks to everyone who helped troubleshoot, and especially Spyware Dr for guiding me to a solution.

    Which tells me that most likely it is display river related. Make sure you have the latest driver installed by checking Toshiba Support

    OK Arie I did update those drivers. The empty folder syndrome greatly improved after updating the driver (while still on Aero)--and speed was much faster than before, too, but the empty folder message did occasionally appear, so I'll switch back to the classic UI, which is fine by me.
