Display is set to windows XP. Tried system restore earlier and I keep getting the response unable to restore even though I tried several different restore points. I guess that will be the next problem I'll tackle after I or should I say we solve the current display problem.

    CTRL + Scroll Mouse

Hi, do you have a scroll-mouse?
Open an internet explorer site where the characters are ENLARGED.
Hold down your Control key and scroll (still holding the control key) in either direction with your scroll-mouse.
Do pause withing the scrolls to see what effect it has on your screen.

    Regards,

    Sef

Jack: If I may jump in here. I had exactly the same thing happen to my pc. Xp home. One day fine and next thing text is huge, overlapping each other. All settings including LCD monitor settings at default. The tech guy I use narrowed it down to a corrupt or missing font. Not knowing which font was it was he formatted. Hope it helps

Scrolling with the ctrl key does increase and decrease the font size but before that was suggested everything was pretty much back to normal with the exception of the background colors, fat cursor and the large text in the log in and selection boxes on web pages. As I type this these fonts are three times bigger than the fonts outside this reply box and the submit reply and post preview boxes have huge fonts also.

Figured it out. In control panel, accessibility options, display tab, high contrast was checked and cursor width was set half way across the slider. Unchecked the high contrast and slid the cursor width all the way to the left and the problem is gone. Thanks for all your help, you guys are always a great help and I'm starting to learn a lot more about the computer. Thanks, Jack
