Thanks Christer... I was just wondering. From your post I gather that the folders are super hidden for a reason. Just as well. Keeps people like me from having super problems :)

I like that move TIF folder and reboot idea. Works well.

Thanks again. Oh, I'm running Win98FE.

    Hi
"Any specific reason why it shouldn´t handle round numbers very well? "

I remember reading it somewhere. here or possible picked it up at AumHa Forums it soon went right over my head and interest
level to :), there they seam to recommend CacheSentry and also recommend it at winhelp2002, Ive used it .
But quite frankly don't see or comprehend why and to me here on a win me 9x every bit of resource is to valuable to let yet another third party tool run in the background,, rather I clear the TIF and offline everyday.. and the old index.dat every month or so..

I will say one thing about cacheSentry, if for instance your looking and downloading allot of graphics,, well you know the TIF will get full, confused, and sometimes stop downloading as in right click save as ,,, "error IE cannot download such and such ",, with CC that will never happen.

    Regards
    Lonny

    dopey,
    You´re welcome!

It seems like I didn´t remember the procedure correctly, reboot is not necessary. However, it´s better with one reboot too many than one too few ...... ......

There was a similar discussion a while ago during which I did my "research ". I searched and found the previous thread in which there´s a link to a M$ KB article describing the elusive super-super hidden TIF sub-folder.

    Lonny,
thanks for the clarification and the tip on CacheSentry, I´ll check it out after the weekend.

Soon I´ll be off to spend a weekend with some ...... ;) ...... real people, separated from my friends in cyberspace!

    Christer
