Does anyone know of an inexpensive device that would allow a person to send an e-mail by talking into the computer instead of typing at the keyboard. Thank you. abm

You don't mention your Operating System, if you complete your system details it could save a lot of time when resolving this or further issues. ;)

Anyway, assuming XP this Microsoft Article may be of help to you.

I bought the best rated, and not at all cheap, Voice activation software available, believing what the Mfg in MA said about it. I took all the time required to "train" it as per the instructions....with high hopes. That was around 2 years ago, I put the headset away and never used it again.

Not only could it not 'hear the music," it could not keep up with my verbiage, forget I type faster than it responds....forget as fast as I type, that no way keeps up with what is unfolding in my head.

I then realized, that while this technology moves along in quantum leaps, the typewriter was invented in 1840. and here we are, still having to type every letter on KBs not very different from the one on that first typewriter.

Perhaps someone will have to work on virtual intelligence to get this done.....but whoever does will have Warren Buffet/Michael Dell money in no time....and they will totally deserve it.
