I did a FF21 reset and now the FF tabs work differently.

If I open more than one FF tab they are all minimized into one group tab at the bottom instead of minimized in separate tabs at the bottom like they previously were. If I maximize just one, they all show up as separate tabs all on the same top bar. How do I "ungroup" them so they act independently like all the non FF tabs that I also have minimized (ie IE8 tabs, Music, Word, etc.)?

    SpywareDr,

Thanks, but not sure I have the same as you.

I'm using XP-Pro. The only relevant thing I see in Properties is "Group similar taskbar buttons" and the check box is unchecked?

XP may be old but about half the world still loves it.

    I don't think so.

I liked your first reply about "never combine ".

The problem is not just the vertical location of the tabs, it's just that some tabs are grouped into one tab and when you open the one tab, multiple tabs are shown on the same line at the top.

When I minimize a tab I expect it to stay minimized and don't want to see it up top unless I click on it. It worked fine until the @#$% FF reset.

I appreciate your time. I just posted the ? on the FF site and I'll repost the solution here once I find it.

    thanks, Rob

    Rob ...

FF should work (and look) the same, no matter whether you're using XP or 7.

I suggest installing the Tab Mix Plus extension. It has many options, and will give you far more control over FF's tabs than is available "out of the box ".

Hi robls99, Have you had a look in Tools > Options > Tabs to see if everything is set correctly? Mine is working in XP Pro after Update to V21.0. Neil.

All the boxes in Tabs are checked incl
"Open new windows in a new tab instead" so I don't know what could be causing the problem.

Good try and thanks for the addl link. I don't understand it 100% but no where did I see anything that told me how to kill the whole tab/group set up.

As I described above, I don't want my multiple minimized FF links to be minimized into only 1 icon at the bottom, I want to see their individual icons spread out like it was before the reset and if I maximize one I only want to see that tab at the top.
