    Hello Everyone!

I was sent here from the good folks at Spybot.info after removing some Malware and having system issues. I have a Sony Vaio running XP Home SP1 that my son uses and all was fine until we started to get pop-up windows for Antivirus Pro 2009. It seems it got hit with some malware and the good folks at spybot said I was good to go but I still have some major issues. I'd like to get this PC updated and running well again.

This is what is currently going on. I'm unable to run most executables in anything but safe mode.

On a regular boot IE will not load but shows up in the processes. Same with Firefox. I wanted to upgrade to IE 7 but the upgrade I d/l'd requires XP SP2 at least.

Odd things are happening system wise such as when clicking on "Start" and "Run" I do not get the command line box, instead I get a message that I can not crate a shortcut there and would I like to create one on the desktop. If I say yes it creates one but the link doesn't work either.

I could add more details but I'm not sure where ot begin or what would be useful.

    Thanks in advance!

    Fred
