    Thanks guys,

Nice to know I'm still welcome.
Billybob: You're right, those .ini files are IMPORTANT and the system will not run without them and I think the main reason they still exist is that there are still 100s of 1000s of machines out there (like mine, still running 95, and even earlier software and hardware) which still require them. I also agree if you really wanted to stretch technicalities, you would be correct in saying the Registry and those ini files are related(distant cousins if you like)....
Anyway, enuff said and let's get back to work(or in my case golf).and see y'all round the traps..

    Thanks Topdog for the note.

Have you ever done a SYSEDIT and really looked to see what is actually in those files ?

A good part of the Win.ini is for compatability.

Now, it is a good thing that I listen to what I say.

I was house cleaning OLD old backups of the System.ini in the Windows folder and got ONE TOO MANY.

Or should I blame the Mouse pointer ? :)

I just HATE it when I restart and get the nasty message " Corrupt or missing System.ini . "

    Thank goodness for scanreg /restore.

Speaking of Golf. I hope I have my Golf game Links LS 2003 ) repaired so the it don't kick me out next week when we play a game with our Friend in Canada. Stupid Vidoe drivers were driving me up the wall until I found a set that worked as they should.
