Once the prompt comes up to reinstall windows, are the directions fairly easy to follow?

    Exactly.

In that situation I faced before, it kept on asking me for the Windows 7 Installation Disk every alternate boot. So, eventually, I gave it a clean installation and fixed the problem forever. Every other ways trying to fix the problem were interesting but only proofs of ineffective, and liked digging into the iceberg down from the tip and inviting more and more uncertainties and additional software tools which further complicated the problem. So, why not give it a clean start again? i.e. reinstall Windows.

b.t.w. I strongly discourage you to put any browsers or applications at start up. Not even the sidebar gadgets. That will give you a better day.

Okay thank you guys. If it all works out I should be reinstalling sometime later this week. I believe it will be fairly easy from here, but I will keep you posted.

    Thanks again. :)

Ratchet, I hope everything goes well and you will be able to get the computer back up and running. If you are going to reinstall Windows make sure you back up any important data on the harddrive before you format it.

@ Clif, I am happy that I was able to provide some insight on your question that you had. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to PM me.
