I recently started using Firefox as my default browser and despite the option to check spelling as I type being checked this does not happen in composing WindowsBBS posts.

Any thoughts as to a solution?

Works fine for me, so other than to ask if you have language packs installed I'd have no idea.

Using Firefox 32.0 - I have only the default language packs installed - English/United Kingdom and English.

Same issue in Firefox 32 on Windows 8.1 on the laptop.

Issue resolved - there was no dictionary installed. Would have thought that would have been done on installation. Subsequently found this on Mozilla forums ....

Update - Installed the US version of Firefox and spell check now working as it should without the dictionary enabled.

Might be a bit of a pain when typing words like tyre, instead of tire, and getting a red squiggly line underneath (as I am now).

True, James, but as the majority on this BBS use the 'non English' spelling of some words it is not an issue :) Incidentally the way you spell some words is far more logical!

FYI, in FF you can right click any red-underlined "mis-spelling" and select Add to dictionary.

Thanks Tony - it is the same in IE.
