I'll just toss in that I used to use StyleXP. The tray problem was frequent. After updating to SP1, I needed to update Style. No tray problems during the short period I ran that, but when version m came out and I upgraded again, the problem reappeared. Now using WindowBlinds and no problem.

I also tried and uninstalled several other tray-management utilities. I wonder if there is common software here somewhere.

The maddening thing about the problem was its sporadic nature, like a problem car that runs perfectly when the mechanic is present.

ok, we can try the software thing...I will try to be all-inclusive:

    RoboForm
ZA free (bought Pro and hated it)
Panda Titanium AV (the problem was there before I switched to Panda)
    WinMX
    SysTrayX
    PanicWare Pop-Up Stopper
    Lavasoft Ad-aware
    SP1 plus:
    SP2 Q810565, Q328310, Q327979, Q329834, Q329890, Q329115, Q329048

and of course all the usuals that come with Windows and MS office.

    Any similarities?
