    Hi there all,
I would like to find out how I could get the best possible audio recording of one off my all time favorite songs.
The Beach Boys made this tune popular in the mid sixties and I have the CD of that.
I have found a version of this song that I absolutely love and would like to record.
The Song is called: Sloop John B
This is the Link where you can listen to it:

    http://www.acousticmusicarchive.com/sloop_john_b.html

    cheers

Keep in mind that the music police might bust you and me for typing the following:

There are tons of audio recording software. I use a little one that came with Microsoft Plus! Digital Media cd.... I bring up the software - bring up the site with the music - hit the record button then click on the song to begin playing it...

I use Real Player to download music from the Internet. My daughter copies music from You Tube with this all the time.

Hi, and thank you guys, well I installed Audacity, and it appears to be working, but it is not recording anything for me.
Arie, when I load the link that you gave me it plays the music very nicely, but Audacity is not recording any sound, the red needle (meter) is running across the page but there are no sound waves showing therefore it is not recording any.
I have not experimented with this before so I don't know where I am going wrong, I can play back any music with no problems, I am using Media Monkey as my Media Player.
Sorry guys, can you spare the time to give me some more advice with this.

    Thanks

I use Audacity but haven't tried recording off the internet with it. I use MP3myMP3. It works great but there are some "sound cards" it won't work with - Sigmatel is one of them.

If you can get Audacity to work you have a full featured audio editing program at your finger tips.

    Mitch

edit: I mainly use audacity to record from my USB turntable.

Hi Mitch, I installed the MP3 my MP3 on another machine that runs MS Internet Essentials and it did not come up as Malware.
I am happy to say it worked straight off, no problems and saved the tune as a MP3 File, copied it to my Music USB stick and Bingo all is sweet.
I will try and work out Audacity.
    Thanks again Friends.
