It's good idea to have a thorough checkup but the notebook is brought to S. Korea now. I may not get in touch with him even on phone for the next month. I just help, and do not own the machine.

For the Snap. On, I think it's clear. For other possible viruses, I consider out of scope. However, if he comes back calling for help again, I'll walk through the whole process including #19. Cross fingers.

When I told my friend that I got help from you guys behind the backdrop, he felt touching and wondered why people like you and other Windowsbbs.com are so keen on helping others.
To me, I really appreciate your help so I can help my friend. But I said to my friends, it's the last time that I give help on Windows. Next time, I'd expect the problems from a Mac.

This incident reminds me why I moved my family's computers from Windows to OS X a few years ago. I can't afford time to fix viruses and since moving to Mac, virtually my children's computers have given me quite time. In this incident, IE, Firefox and Chrome are all infected except Safari. I think following the departure of the sticky plague in Microsoft in the next 12 months, his successor should put more effort in retaining customers, rather than putting out fancy but unimpressive Metro kind of lousy "changes" (not improvement) to disguise customers. To me, enough is enough. NT-core Windows platform is outdated. Now it's Linux-core OS X going to be mature sooner. Microsoft, in order to win in the next OS, must give a much-much-better OS solution than Windows. I want a secure "house ", not just unlocked / easy-to-break-in Windows.
