I've had a dumbphone until now but am considering getting a smartphone. What is the general (?) opinion on the need for AntiVirus and/or Firewall on a smartphone?

I have no insight what-so-ever and post a poll. After previewing a few times, I'm not sure it will come out right but hopefully it will.

If your choice is "yes", please specifiy which security app(s) you´re using.

    Thanks!

I use MBAM only on my Smart phones as newer Androids have Apps included which "clean" your junk/temp files. MBAM will check any Apps you download and flag if there are any parasites hanging on. You don't need to slow the phone down with an AV program.

I use Avast for security, including call blocking + PureVPN when connecting to any other then my own WiFi

How does Avast and PureVPN respectively affect battery time?

Avast: Hardly . PureVPN uses battery.. I've been connected with VPN for about 9 hours today, used 21% of the battery (18% phone Idle, 14% Android OS, 13% Screen)

I don't use any protection, but I don't store sensitive files on my smartphone either.

I forgot to mention that I am using ProtonVPN (free) for network protection when traveling.
