    Thanks.

Ok, what am I supposed to put in for my default username and password? When I first did the regedit, I thought it didn't matter, so I made up a name and pw. Then when I restarted the computer, the autologon said something like "Windows cannot log you on. Make sure the username and password are correct, etc.... ", then I clicked ok, and it takes me to the welcome screen where I choose my name and icon.

    Any thoughts?

Username & password to suit yourself. But whatever you choose, add it to the local users and groups, users.

Ok, I didn't add it to the local users. That was the problem there.

Now, do I have to make the username and password the same for both computers? I'd prefer not to. If not, how do I get each computer to recognize the other one?

I assume I don't have to use the auto logon if I don't want to.

Anything else I'm going to have to do?

    Thanks!

You do not have to use autologon.

You do not have to use the same logon for each PC. In fact, I don't like the idea for a number of reasons. All you will have to do is have each username/password included as a local user on each PC. That allows logon validation on a peer (no central controller like a domain contoller) network.

I think that is all you should need to do.

I have a local user account with the same username and password included on both computers. I'm logged in as that user on computer A, but as a different user on computer B.

It's still the same story as before. When I explore the workgroup on each computer I get:

    Computer A: I see nothing.
Computer B: I see the icon for Computer B only.

    Any thoughts?

Thanks a million for the help!

Install NetBEUI on both computers, and you won't have any more of these problems. Enable the guest account, and disable the firewall.
