I will be moving house soon and found that the fastest way to connect to the internet at the new house is via ADSL2+ line (I have been 'spoilt' with the use of 'cable' up to now).
I realise that ADSL2+ isn't as fast as cable but what I am wondering is how can a single ADSL2+ line be shared with INTERNET, (land line) TELEPHONE and PAY TV.
Isn't this asking a bit much (the telco doesn't think so).
It seems to me that PAY TV will 'hog' the line to ensure uninterrupted viewing which will impact on the internet connection.
Can someone explain how this works.
    Thanks
    John

One line can contain hundreds of channels (separate frequencies). Just as in cable service, the phone, Internet and tv use separate channels.
