    Hi,

I'm posting this question here because my operating system is Windows XP and I think this may be a question that is related to Windows XP and its functioning. If not, I apologize. I also apologize if this is a question that has been dealt with before...I did a search and I couldn't find anything on it.

My question is: when I go to Control Panel, then Internet Options, then Content tab, and try to Enable Content Advisor, all of the settings other than Unrestricted seem to insist that EVERY website I try to visit...even MSN. com, Yahoo, and others that ought to be safe...has restricted content and I have to keep putting in my password just to go there! Is there any way to set the silly thing so that others in my family can't access porno websites, without it hindering my ability to use the Internet at all?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi, PeteC!

Thanks for replying and for linking to that article. However, all it really tells me is what my own Control Panel is telling me: that I can either rely on the Rating System that Windows XP is using (which apparently wants to restrict everything, or allow everything) or I can spend the time to make a list of either websites I visit frequently (like Yahoo) or a list of ones I want to make sure are avoided at all costs (the porno ones).

The problem is that I have a family member who needs to use my computer for job hunting, but who also has a tendency to waste time on the porno websites whenever he gets frustrated. I want to prevent him from going to the porno sites, but not to completely restrict his Internet access by choosing the too-restrictive option that XP is giving me. And since he usually clears the history...as well as running my anti-virus and anti-spyware programs...before I come home from work, it's impossible for me to know which porno sites he's going to.

Can anyone recommend an alternate Ratings Guide that will allow for this, or are they all about the same as the one XP has defaulted to? Which is ICRA3, by the way.

    Thanks again for any help!

    Thank you, PeteC!

The Google search pointed me to a software download called Safe Eyes that works just fine! Once my 30-day free trial is finished I will absolutely buy it so that I have it on my system permanently! Thanks again for the help!
