Well here goes something new for me.

I will need to work with it.

    WOW !! It worked.

I do realize we may be refering to different things.

But as you can see from the attached thumbnail that I have two different drives viewed in the SAME window.

I could also have two different folder on the same drive if I wish.

Lets say I can Highlight the Favoties folder on C: ( I believe not shown ) Select All and then drag it over to H:/FavBck and Select " Copy Here " and that is it. I have MANY things on a CDRW this way.

I have even used this method TO MOVE Programs from one place to another.

No sweat, BillyBob. Since you showed me yours, I'll show you mine ( :D ). Two different presentations of the same thing in FmEdit.

:) No broblem with that :)

But now only you can tell me for sure. But I see that as being two( 2) different and separate Windows. Which is some cases ( unless you have control of the Windows size ) may need to be resized to get them both viewable.

My View shows two different drives ( or views of the same drive if you wanted to ) in the SAME WINDOW which is auto arranged to suit.

Mine as posted shows C: Partition & H: Partition. But I could have it show C:\ and C:\Windows. ( two views of the same partition )

But again they would be in the same Window.

I looked a bit CLOSER at the separate thumbnails and they do look as if they would have pretty much the same capabilities as PowerDesk.

Such as one side showing C: and the other showing H:

Each which case either one is better than Windows Explorer.

I showed two screenshots of FmEdit. In each, there is a single window with two panes, each of which is divided into two sub-panes, one always showing the file tree.

The display can be either vertical, with the file tree on the left, looking much the same as your PowerDesk display, or horizontal, with the file tree on top, which I find a bit easier to work with. I also have the option of using the traditional Explorer two-pane display. The displays are easily switched, either from the menubar or with Fkeys.

You can look at any combination of drives/folders/files you wish, just as you can with PowerDesk. I showed them the way I did only to demonstrate that you can look at the same drive/folder in both panes, if you wish.

The way I use FmEdit most often is when I want to compare files/folders on two different computers on my wired/wireless LAN. My laptop is set up in an abbreviated version of my desktop (because the hard drive is smaller), so folder contents aren't always the same. Using FmEdit I can compare the two computers at a glance, and copy or move files/folders between them more easily than I can using Explorer.

I also use AB Commander Lite from time to time, simply because it has the capability of displaying grid lines, which make file comparison considerably easier. That's been promised for a future version of FmEdit.

Yup. When I got on the ball and examined things a bit closer I realized that.

And as far as Vertical or Horizontal display PD is the same.

I do a lot of that with PowerDesk too.

So unless something else is different, ( due to the pictures ) FmEdit and PowerDesk are ( or seem to be ) close to ( or have ) the same capabilities.

I think we have things ironed out pretty well now.
You have yourself a fine day.
