Hi gerdy. This could be related to a malware infection but I would like to make sure. Can you post the details of the complete error message? Does the run dll error message state that a certain file cannot be found?

    Hi
the error does not specifically state a certain file. it just pups up when she turns on the computer and it just says rundll error. I have asked her if she downloaded things from the internet but she doesn't know. Also the only way i can get into her register editor is that I have to go into safe mode. I have tried to uninstall some program from the add/remove but some of the programs I can't uninstall. I was going to restore her computer to an earlier time but the last restore point is after the error started. I was looking to see if I could get something earlier but no go. I hate to have to restore to factory new but if all else fails I might have to go that route. But maybe I'am lucky and I can get some help

Lets make sure the computer isn't infected with any malware before troubleshooting this issue further.

Please read this and post the requested logs in the Malware and Virus Removal Forum.

Once the computer is declared clean, post back in this thread with an update on the issue.
