Rootkit deletion from AVG2011 wiped out my sound

    I did a rootkit deletion using AVG2011. I was warned - Are you sure? - I said yes- I was logged off with a bang noise and now the sound disappeared from the laptop.
    Very frustrated.
    Toshiba Satellite A100
    System restore id not help.
