I'm still perplexed by 3 Beeps on start up. What BIOS Brand is installed in your motherboard?
Most BIOS beeps I hear on all our comps is 1 at start up.
You said it has always done 3 beeps from when you built your comp. Is that normal for that Motherboard brand?
Any code reference I have seen says 3 beeps is Base 64K memory failure.
Have you pulled the RAM sticks and cleaned and reseated them?
Blown dust out of machine? Neil.

On my motherboard, there is a part near the un-used slots on my motherboard, in big letters, is "MS-7309 VER:1.0 ". On another part of my motherboard, within a retangular box made up of two lines, is, "FC" that symbol with the "c" is repeated a few times "micro-star model ms-7309 ". Finally, on another box, a square white box, on my motherboard, there is, "686 AMBI-BIOS 1999 VK 10 7926 ".

As far as the BIOS brand, well, I would have to guess its AMBI-BIOS 1999 VK 10 7926. Most likely, I'm wrong on that.

I don't know if the three beeps is normal on my pc, it has always done that so I just assumed it was ok.

I can pull the RAM sticks and get rid of any dust around the sockets, what ever dust is left after the thurough cleaning I did.

    What is "reseated them "?

    Oh yeah, dust is gone.

Catch Up: Looking for a job, and been working mostly on my laptop, so being ticked off that my room pc isn't working is not on red alert. However, it is still something I would like to get fixed as soon as possible.

When you refit/install the RAM = you reseat it. Just make sure the RAM is fully inserted in the slot and that the locks click in to place.
When you Start the computer > it normally Posts > the Beep > then the screen will display your BIOS make along with other details > if you press Pause/Break key on your keyboard, you will be able see the Brand and Version of your BIOS.

or Start and hit DEL immediately after the Beep and enter BIOS where all is revealed. Neil.

If he could start it Neil ;)

Forsaken Knight, you've supplied enough information to determine that you have an AMI BIOS and 3 beeps is definitely not good for a normal startup.

As you may have gathered from the various replies in this thread it's difficult to diagnose your fault (though I'm suspecting motherboard) and other than reseating/replacing the various components there's not a lot you can do.

I'm being optomistic Wildfire and hoping that reseating the RAM might get it going. If not, your choice of Motherboard gone South may be the last thing Forsaken Knight wants to know. Neil.
