Ok, this is beginning to be fun :)

LadyLuck, lets try a couple of things.

    (1) Send yourself an email with a small photo attachment, any photo will do with a .jpg suffix(something.jpg).
    About 50-200k in size.

Do this using your OE mail client using your ISP's POP3 account to your ISP's POP3 account and see if it gets back to you intact with the jpg photo attachment using ONLY your OE email client both ways.

Then do the same thing, using your OE email client and your ISP's POP3 account to your Netscape email account.
See if the photo attachment gets to your Netscape email account intact with the photo attachment.

If the attachment you had tried to send previously had an .exe or .com suffix (something.exe or something.com), let me know in your next post.
Reason for my asking about .exe and .com is oftentimes a virus will have a suffix of .exe or .com.
If that be the case, your Netscape mail service may be INTERPRETING that attachment as a virus when in reality it is harmless.

Also LadyLuck it would be helpful for us to know what size (byte/kbyte) the original attachment was you had trouble getting through the Netscape mail service.

Could be they have lowered their acceptance size of attachments so as not to overload their servers.

Ok Here's what I did. I took something from my documents.
I used two different ones, one animated, one stationary

Did not see any extension for either one. Checked in properties

A saved picture ( jpg). Animated
    8.54kb 8745bytes

Also a saved picture, not animated.
    9.65kb 9890bytes

Sent from my Outlook Express address to my Outlook Express.
    Got it.

Sent them to my Netscape address from my OE, got both in Netscape.

Sent from Netscape to my OE address.

One was returned marked Service unavailable

    One marked User Unknown.

My limit at Netscape is 5.00 , I'm using 0.67

Ok LadyLuck, seems your ISP POP3 account is working just fine.
From what you say, I have to ask why you keep trying to use the Netscape mail site when it seems undependable.

If it were me, I would forget that mail service and stick with the POP3 account which seems to perform as expected.

If I ever find out what happened I will let you know.

Thanks to all who tried to figure this out

    Hi ladyLuck,

Just one more stab at this problem of yours. We have determined that you don't have a Netscape browser at all, and you are using the Netscape WebMail only.

It appears to me that you most likely use AOL as your ISP, but of course I could be wrong.

This last stab.... have you tried zipping/compressing the attachments before sending? Otherwise, I'm out of ideas.

    Ramona :D

Ramona No my ISP is not AOL.

One last stab at this problem. I recently downloaded a patch from M$. KB828750.

At the time I read it but for the life of me cannot remember what it was all about.

I took a look in my add/remove and I see a patch. The numbers are the same but instead of KB there is a Q in front of the numbers.

Could this have anything to do with my Netscape problem.

I tried to find some info in the KB patch but no luck with M$

    ladyLuck,

That is the October 2003 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer. That should have no effect on your WebMail problem. I have seen no ill effects reported in the Security/Virus/Spyware Forum, associated with Mail and this Patch. I have installed it and have had no repercussions.

Did you try zipping an attachment and sending?

Ramona No I did not try zipping.

Now I can't even reply, send or forward text or attachments to my OE address.

Doesn't this appear to be a problem in OE.

I looked at my blocked list in OE, Netscape not in there, also I put my Netscape address in Mailwasher as "friend ".

Still will not deliver mail. No text, no attachments.

I'm just wondering if my ISP has blocked Netscape, even though I have instructed them to take me off any of their blocking programs.

Next step I think, Call ISP.

    What's your opinion.
This has turned into a challenge
