After you got your pc unfrozen and went back and looked - was the mail gone/deleted?

I clicked on the provided link by member Steve R Jones
Then clicked on the first link there: Known Issues
Under the Title: Composing and Reading Mail I found this:
Directly under that (in Bold) was:
    Having this issue? Report
    Of which stated this:
Vista had a very similar issue (with Windows Mail), but I have not been aware of any issue like this whilst running Windows 7.
For anyone running Vista with the same fault (but in Windows Mail) the fix is below:
I'd be interested in others who have had similar issues with Gmail and Windows 7. If there's one, there must be more.

Hello, Thankyou for your advice, however as I am a beginner at this I am having problems fixing this by myself and have called in a computer Technician.

    Many thanks, Martin

I'm just trying to think what I'd do if I was called out to something like this.
Since the fault is with Gmail I'd probably log into your account on another computer, just to see if that computer "locks" up when accessing the outgoing message.

I'd also run IE Reset on your computer, to default all Internet Explorer settings
And run CCleaner to clear out all present temp files.
I'd run CheckDisk (chkdsk /r on an elevated command prompt) as well, since your computer did lock up.
Plus confirm your Antivirus is up to date and do a quick updated scan with Malwarebytes
And lastly do all Java updates and possibly Windows Updates and Service Pack updates

But then again with the tech beside the computer, and seeing the Windows version and all specs and what's loading, he may have other options.

    Please keep us informed :)

    Oh thanks
You had Gmail set up on your machine to allow offline files
I didn't even think of just going and removing the installed Google Apps, and then install the newest one.

I use Gmail as well, but only online, ie I haven't downloaded Google anything.

    Thanks for the update :)
