    Hi guys,

After much surfing I found your page with the following thread:

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/malware-v...ro-hacked-lost-admin-rights-user-account.html

I have a similar problem to his, a virus (Believe it to be smitfraud) started giving me false alerts and soon filled the machine...

It removed all my admin rights from the main admin account ie.

    Startmenu,
    Run,
    Regedit
    install priveliges...

    Leaving that account pretty dead.
I ran SmitFraudfix and also AVG8, SuperAntispyware, Bitdefender and HJT...

    All found virus' and trojans.

Problem is that now the system is clear admin rights have not been returned.

It also seems Deckards Scanner is no longer available. :(

I ran HJT and the other programs before I come across this thread and didnt save any logs.

    What can I do?

    Regards

    Dan

    Hi Dan
    Welcome to windowsbbs.

    Please do this.

    • Download RSIT by random/random and save it to your desktop.
    • Double click RSIT.exe to start the tool and click Continue at the disclaimer.
    • When the scan completes it will open a log named log.txt maximized, and a log named info.txt minimized.
    • Please post the contents of both logs here in your next reply.

    Please post the log.txt

    Thanks
    Geri

All is sorted, Re ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware with some modified search settings and it picked up more of the **** and enabled regedit and admin priveliges as part of the cleanup process so all is well now!

    Thanks for the responses guys.

    Dan.
