lj50--What was the solution? That way we all can learn.

Start\Run\Regedit\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocsFolderPaths. Create a new string value in the users name then modify it. Type in the navigation path to the folder(C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents). That puts the User's Documents folder back under the heading of Files Stored on This Computer in My Computer.

    lj50--Thanks!!
Interesting that on my PC (and I think this was the default setting), My Documents are in C:\ . And that is what shows in the Registry key you mention (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Explorer\DocsFolderPaths)
I do have a My Documents folder in C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\ but it is empty!.

Don't you have My Pictures, My Videos, My Received Files, My Music, My Webs, and My eBooks in your My Documents folder or am I reading your post wrong? Sorry 'bout that long-winded question.

lj50--Yes, but the My Documents folder in which they are located is C:\My Documents, not C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents .

lj50--The location of your (active) My Documents folder is different than mine. But based on what you report, the Registry fix you made sounds correct. Glad it works.
