Remnants of a nasty infection

    You could try disabling them via Device Manager and reboot. If you do that, make sure to do a bootlog too (a new one). I was going to suggest checking the Device Manager for errors anyway, so do that while you're there.

    Based on the dss log, the drive with the operating system is disk 0
    Verify you have the correct drive by opening it's properties in Device Manager and click the volumes tab, then click Populate and view the partition information.

    Since we have the malware issue resolved, lets move the remainder of this discussion back to the other topic.
