In first image, you should have not "System" highlighted, but a user, you're logged in right now (Administrator, or Users, if Users have admin rights).
    Then checkmark "Full Control ".

    That's a start.

You'd have to go back to my reply #59 and post a screenshot after each of my steps to give me some idea what's going on.

Thanks to all who advised and helped ..especially Broni
I finally got rid of the keys and it was, as everyone suspected a permissions issue. When I finally got the hang of it I deleted the 90 keys by hand. My problem was I guess being a little apprehensive and lack of trust in some advice ...so I set about doing the job correctly making sure I added a different user/owner/permission with full control rights..it worked. I used the advanced button to find a user etc and picked the user group one..all was well...what a relief..now I am scared to try and reinstall...smile

As I said earlier in this post the Nero10 disc has an uninstall facility which I used without any problem, It left a few keys behind but Windows 7 Manager cleared them all. So, don't worry about re-installing.

Follow up..although I have got rid of the keys I have not got rid of the problem..I started to reinstall..it looked good for some time then was far to too quick..program asked to reboot and then after reboot no icons indicating suite apart form backitup...and that did not work I realized it had actual not made any programs available for usage On examination I found all the .MSI files were in the temp file directory and the event view showed 1603 error..so I give up..thanks to all involved.. a marathon

I suggest, you contact Nero, or dump it altogether.
How many of 1001 features of that 1GB monster do you really need?
