Started out on my wife's system, NancXP. When trying to do a system restore,
    we got the message
    Loading script "C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ regedit.sys" failed (Access is denied. )

Did a virus scan, found and quarantined a virus in the Registry. That didn't resolve the problem so I looked for a regedit.sys on her computer ... couldn't find it.

Went to my WinXP, ChuckXP, no problem with system restore, and looked for regedit.sys to copy to NancyXP. I can't find it there either?

    Am perplexed. :(

From what I can find on regedit.sys I am sure that your wife's computer is infected .....

Head over to the Malware & Virus Removal forum .....

Please read this as indicated at the head of the forum and post the logs requested in a new thread.

    Hi Chuckmg,

Good thing you didn't find it on your bothers machine. regedit.sys is part of the virus critter:
    regedit.sys is an virus indication

Please do as Pete suggests. We have one the best malware/trojan teams on the net. Certified and Trained. It may take a bit of patience but they will not let you down.
