Recovering Windows XP Icons

    When I look at that registry, the default value is set at "find ". I'll try setting it at "none" and restart. Would that be correct?

    Yes. That's the problem. Change it to "none" (without the quotes) and then try it. I'm not sure if it will require a reboot or not. My guess is not but if it doesn't work right away, reboot and hopefully it'll be right.

    Edit: I just tried it here. I changed it to find and my drive opened the search box without a reboot. So, reboot shouldn't be necessary.
