Resolved Receiving General Mail but not from my Forum Group

Hi,
Ever since I renewed and updated my Avast Virus Software I have not received anything from my company's forum group, wxforum@nxport.com. I am the administrator of this forum and I can't handle problems that arise if I do not receive any of the postings.

Is it possible that something is in Avast that is blocking the forum group? I do not want to uninstall Avast but I am desperate to try anything. What else could be blocking this group?

I have been working on this problem for at least a week to no avail. I have been the administration of this Forum group since 1998 and never had this problem. When I receive the mail, I first receive it in the Mail Washer Program and then I have always washed the mail and it went in my Thunderbird program.

About a week ago I have stopped receiving any mail from the forum group, (wxforum@nxport.com or wxforum-owner@nxport.com) which the server that supervises it is https://www.aplonis.com/.

I have talked to Aplonis and they said they do not have anything blocked. I also talked to my server, Spectrum, and they said nothing is blocked there. I have checked all my settings in the Mail Washer and Thunderbird and all looks exactly like it should be. I have tried several things Mozilla support wrote about but no luck there also.

Last week or so I renewed my Avast Virus Checker and the problem seemed to start around this time but I am not sure. I feel as though I should uninstall all of Avast to see if it will bring in my forum mail but I am not sure if I am wasting my time.

I would appreciate anything you could suggest to get my forum mail returned to me. There are about 300 people subscribed to it and since I am the administrator sometimes, we have bounces or new people joining or quitting and I am in no way helpful now. I do have a new man as my assistant but I'm not sure he will know what to do in case there is a problem.

Have you tried shutting off Avast and see if you can get your mail? Then turn it back on.

 

Yes, I shut off Avast and still not able to get the Forum Mail. Any more ideas.

 

Hi Mary, I would suggest uninstalling Avast completely. MS Defender will kick in automatically and that way you will more than likely find out whether it's the Antivirus software is the cause.

 

I have uninstalled Avast completely and still no emails from wxforum@nxport.com. All the other members are receiving the posts.
I did look at Spectrum's webmail spam folder and nothing looks out of order there.

I just went on the site you suggested and checked information and there is nothing I can see that could be contributing to this problem.
Just a bit of information that may help. I'm now with Spectrum which they bought out Brighthouse and also as you can see we have road runner in my email. To me it is very confusing. Do you think, Brighthouse or road runner could be the culprit?

Did you use the Avast Removal Tool when you uninstalled Avast?

I agree I do not think it is Avast either. I didn't know about the website, from Avast uninstall utility, but when I uninstalled it I used Revo Uninstaller and that does a good job. I also installed and ran the adwcleaner.
I am a complete loss as what the problem is. Any other help would be most appreciated. I pay for the monthly cost of this service and now I can't even use it.

One more thing, Saturday night while I was doing more cleaning, deleting old programs, and moving things to my external hard drive, and turning off both my router and modem and restarted I noticed 1 (one) forum message got thru. Here is the header:

nd outside observations will be the test of whether or not our nation will =
emerge out of its predicament in a healthy way, but so far we have only att=
acked the ambassador and have caused his resignation. These are very poor p=
rognostic signs, even as the problem becomes more manifest everyday.

It is a problem, in my opinion, that cannot be solved through one election =
or even should not be allowed to go on until the next election. If we avert=
the current dangers, it will only be because the healthy segment of the po=
pulation will have mobilized. As mental health experts addressing a public =
mental health problem, our goal is to empower the public through the knowle=
dge we can share.

I think I will have to give up on this problem. Another member of the forum just wrote and he is not getting the postings either. I started to get the "digest" version a few days ago but did not get one this morning and I know for sure looking at the administrator site that the digest was sent out. I might have to give up.
