Can't make head or tail of the attached debug log. Seems its not my cup of tea

BSOD's are a problematic lot with Windows telling you that there is some error but the problem is nobody quite knows what the exact error is - it could be due to hardware, software or combination of both. Suggest that you start swapping hardware - SMPS & RAM first before going in for major brain surgery.

The stop 19 is caused because a driver stepped on another drivers memory. In order to troubleshoot it, you have to enable special pool, and potentially get yourself into a no-boot situation.

Heres an old thread with the links to the how-to

As an aside, when you run into bluescreen type issues that do not relent under normal tshooting. I highly recommend you contact Customer Support and let us take a look at the dump.

    rsinfo,
I have installed new drivers for the motherboard and graphics card. It seems to only have altered the type of stop error and the error message. There have been several variations on the theme. Now, I will do two things:

Physical maintenance, open up the computer case, re-seat all cards and memory modules, general cleanup.

I will roll back to a Ghost Image which was created towards the end of the installation procedure of XP SP2 in september 2004. At that time, no drivers were installed separately but the default XP SP2 drivers were retained (worked well for six months). I will reinstall all updates to XP SP2 and of course update AntiVirus and FireWall.

This will take me back to square one (but updated) and I'll take it from there.

    BenMcDonald,
I appreciate your input but the suggested steps are a bit over my head. I will do what I told rsinfo and take it from there. It is very confusing that the stop error and error message including which file is the culprit is different on almost each occasion.

Christer, a very good idea. Maybe a speck of dust is causing problem somewhere - don't laugh I have personally faced this problem. And while you are at it, I would give you a highly secret formula for RAM - remove the RAM and rub the contacts with pencil eraser until the contacts are bright and shinning. Remove all eraser junk with a cloth and reinstall the RAM.

    rsinfo,
I am now at the ½-way mark.

The computer really needed a cleanup. I took out all cards and modules, removed all fans, cleaned them and the heat sinks too. When you just open the case and have a look, it looks pretty decent but once you remove things ...... ...... the truth is revealed! (It wouldn't surprize me if the graphics card has been running too hot.)

Currently, I am running the computer with the case open to listen to the fans, it is sooo easy to tighten the s*c*r*e*w*s too much.

I will see when I find the time to roll back a Ghost Image, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow.

I probably shouldn't say this but no BSOD since the previous posting. (Let's hope Murphy isn't listening ... ... !)

Anyway, I found this regedit and if it happens again, I will try it.

Good to know you have reached some stable stage.

Regarding the fix, I have been building and using AMD CPU's for the last 4 years exclusively and had not any AGP related problem. But your mileage may vary.
