It seems when I boot into safemode, everything loads ultra-fast.
This would mean it's a startup module only in regular mode that is causing this problem.. any ideas now?

Yeah, the Network software isn't enabled in Safe Mode by default. As I posted in concert with you, I suspect something is amiss in the Networking setup.

You may be able to pick up some error message in the event viewer pertaining to Network Shares misconfigured or of that ilk.

How would I go about disabling all networking? I've had problems in the past about completely crashing my computer by disabling networking services. I don't have any mapped network drives in my computer atm. Is this what you're talking about?

Just start by disabling the NIC.

Start > Connect To > Show All Connections > and right click your NIC and choose "Disable. "

    I MAY HAVE FOUND SOMETHING!
In the event viewer: I get this message repeated in the event viewer as "Warning" every single time my computer restarts. The message is as follows:

Windows saved user CHIFFON\admin registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.

This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

    SOURCE: Userenv

Maybe we're onto something now? It pertains to networking.

    ~Eric.

I suspect that is irrelevant to your problem since I get that event error many times and have no apparent problems booting or otherwise. It may well be generated when some component of the Network isn't connected but I have never actually pinned it down to any specific cause.

Disable that NIC and lets see what it does for boot time.

When I try to disable my wireless adapter I recieve the following error:

It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. The connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account.

However, I am able to turn off the switch on the laptop itself. I'll try restarting with the switch off.

    PARTIALLY RESOLVED

With the wireless switch turned off, my system rebooted without any problems and the entire boot sequence went through just like it used to be with the same old boot time.

The new problem now is: What is up with my wireless network adapter?
I have a home-server with networked drives, but these drives are fully functional and are mapped correctly. My server is located @ www.notaloafer.com

What should I be doing to fix my adapter issues?
    ~Eric.

I can only suggest that you uninstall and reinstall any associated software for the adapter. If no joy, you may need to replace it (card).

Wireless Networks are often tricky and if you're on the fringe, there can be problems like this. By fringe, I mean too great of a distance or some other mitigating circumstance that affects the range of the system. I have seen problems that are solved by simply moving the unit a few inches or rotating it a few degrees.

    Resolved!

    Thank you guys so much.
What I did was I did a restart with the adapter turned off. I then did another restart with the adapter turned on and the boot still loaded successfully. Hopefully it was just some firmware refresh that was needed because it's working fine now.

You may want to keep this issue in case someone else needs help.
My wireless adapter is a Intel(R) Pro Wireless 3945ABG Internal Wireless.
My LAN adapter is a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Ethernet NIC

Thank you guys so much for your swift responses and great free support!
I usually don't turn to forums for finding help (atleast signing up myself) but your forum proved to be worth it! Thanks Again!

Thanks for posting back so others can be helped.

Always remember, most Wireless Network problems can be corrected with a good CAT5 wired system.

And all Networking System problems can be cured by disabling the NIC. ;)
