ty for your links sorry if my title wasnt (meaningful) but understand i am very frustrated with these crashes and at the time it was all i could think of

anyrate in past 3 weeks i have had 7 blue screen crashes the first 6 windbg shows are probally caused by nv4_disp.dll which i know are connected to my nividia graphics card however the last most recent crash shows probally caused by ntoskrnl.exe pretty sure that 1 is connected to my operating system but my question is what should i do to fix this without reinstalling my OS

also this has only occurred while playing world of warcraft could it be that the graphics are overloading my cards and that caused the problem originally my cards are brand new only had them for just over a month now ive got 2 evga e-geforce 8600 gts running in sli

ty again for any help you guys have allready been very helpful =)

I suggest concentrating on drivers first.

I see you built the system yourself.

After you installed Windows, did you install the drivers that came with the (Asus) motherboard? The nVidia drivers may be causing blue screens, BUT they depend on higher drivers (the chipset drivers).

Get a good set of chipset drivers. They will be included on the drivers disk that came with the motherboard. Are those chipset drivers outdated? Update your drivers at the Asus website (use the Asus Global website if you find problems).

After you have the chipset drivers installed/updated, run the driver installation for the EVGA nVidia graphics card. Look for any updates at the EVGA website. At worst, you may need to go Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs and uninstall then reinstall the nVidia graphics drivers.

The problem seems to point to drivers. Get a good set of drivers, then see how the system responds.

    Matt
