Regarding the cpu, instead of getting that FX-60 for ~$270, why not get a San Diego 4000+ for $80? You can see it here:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103037

Then take your savings and buy two 1GB sticks of RAM - actually a two-stick kit that's meant to run in dual channel. In reality the extra memory will give you better performance than buying that FX-60.

I'm not familiar with "Ultra" brand RAM but I would suggest you consider one of the more prestigious brands like Corsair. Ditto for the power supply. I don't know if you were looking for this kind of feedback but you when post a shopping list, all bets are off! :D

I, myself, bought a San Diego 4000+ so you can be sure it's quite a "tasty" processor. I actually run that chip at 3.0Ghz with absolutely no changes to the standard system setup.

    Ron,

    Now, I agree on everything ... :p ... !

    Roger,

In Sweden, Socket 939 components are becoming hard to come by. The Socket AM2 variant is priced at €194-207 (converted from swedish currency).

Ron's Socket 939 FX-60 is available and priced at €872 or $1136 (converted from swedish currency). When I compare Ron's shopping list ... :( ... I almost start packing!

Bravo on the extra RAM, Salty.

I was trying to edit my last post but I'm getting page errors on this site. Was just going to add that I don't advocate anyone running their cpu at anything but the default settings.
