Ahh...looks as though our previous attempt at replacing ituneshelper.exe either failed, or it got re-infected, which would explain the rogue connection rearing it's head again.

Please run ATF cleaner again, reboot and create a new FindAWF log, and a HijackThis log, then post both.

    Great! :)

You will likely need to re-install iTunes, since the good copy of iTuneshelper.exe has already been deleted from the bak folder. :(

Unless you knowingly set up a proxy server (did your ISP instruct you to do so?), you should fix the following entry with HijackThis.

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:9022

It can be restored via the Misc Tools section of HijackThis should it cause you to lose internet connectivity.

I also recommend you install a software firewall. There are several free versions available, such as Zone Alarm, Kerio and Sygate.

Reboot and create a new HijackThis log, then post.

You may want to consider using a downloads manager. I used a freebie from Metaproducts when I was on dialup.

    http://www.metaproducts.com/mpFrames.asp

Most downloads are resumable, and when downloaded through the manager, you can stop the download, save the incomplete file, then resume it at any time. I did find that it will not work with Windows Updates :(

    Looks great :)

Feel free to delete the tools we created/used, and their logs. AVG Antispyware's guard will only function in the trial version for 30 days, and should be disabled at that time if you keep the program. HijackThis and ATF Cleaner will remain useful tools and can be kept as well.;)

    Happy surfing!
