My computer has just been updated to win10 v1607 and I am having the following problems.
The lock screen has reappeared and trying some of the suggestions on the internet like using the Task Scheduler has not cured the problem.
Another problem that has arisen is the blue strip at the top of internet explorer and google chrome is now a vivid blue is there anyway to tone it down to a more acceptable level ?
    I am running win10 pro 64bit.
any help would be very welcome as win10 seems to be taking more control away form us with every update.
many thanks for any replies in advance.

What version build of 1607 are you running? 14393.693 is running OK in mine.

I have come to terms with the lock screen for now by putting a picture of my wife and dog on it so at least it keeps her at home happy.
    Thanks for all the replies

Did you try the method that I linked you to in order to disable the lock screen?

I did not fully understand it and I was rather concerned that I might make a serious mistake and cause bigger problems.

Hi alboy, Do you want to Start your comp and not have to sign in to your MS account or do you want to REMOVE the Lock screen? I use the netplwiz method and the lock screen shows for a couple of seconds and then goes straight to my Desktop. From Start to Desktop takes about 15 to 20 seconds. Let's know what you want to achieve.

On startup I just want to go straight to the login screen as I did before the 1607 update and not to have to deal with the lock screen I know it may be a small thing but it annoys me that the lock screen is being forced on me without the option to disable it. The new Honda Jazz available in the UK has the same problem with not being able to disable the auto lights as you could on the previous model it is taking more and more choices away from the user as though we cant be trusted to make the right choice what they forget is that it is the customer who always pays and should not be treated like an idiot who can't make their own decisions.

I agree with you, but based on the research that I've done the only way to disable the lock screen is to use the method that I linked to in my first post. If you don't feel comfortable following those instructions to disable the lock screen then you are going to have to live with it unfortunately as there is no other solution to disable it in build 1607.

    Hi PeteC
The solution you describe is the one that I was previously using but it no longer works after the win10 1607 update.
Many thanks for all the helpful replies

    hi Evan
I took the plunge and tried the method you described with the DLL patch but it would not run as it kept saying that the DLL on my computer was wrong and it would not run
