Hello, I have an issue that needs immediate attention.

I am having trouble with my network at home. Now, I know that this may seem to be in the wrong place, but please continue reading.

I was having everything fine with my netowork at home until yesterday. There are three pc's in my household, the one in my room, the one that my grand parrents use, and the laptop that my mom uses. I am sending this thread in via the laptop. The reason I am not sending in this threaded issue via my own pc in my room is because I can not log onto the network (internet) today. I was able to log on to the internet through my pc yesterday, with no problem. When I log on today, my pc freezes. I did some trouble shooting and found out that, when i try to access my wireless network that my pc freezes. When I remove the network adapter from my room pc, my pc is fine. I tried reseting the network modem and the actual moden iteself, I also uninstalled the software on my room pc for the network adapter, and reinstalled it. This did not fix the issue as far as my room is concerned. I am currently running scans on my pc, avast, windows defender, spy bot search and destroy, hijackthis, adaware, registry mechanic, to find anything that could be in the back ground of my pc.

Now, onto the situation with my grand parents pc, which is the source of these chain of problems. Yesterday, I was told that there was something wrong with my grand parents pc. I went to check it out. My grand parents got on their pc a thing called "System Tool 2011 ". After asking some questions, I gathered that my grandparents haven't downloaded anything in the past month, but have opened up emails from relatives. I tried opening up task manager, but quickly after doing so, the pc itself would freeze. I had to force a shutdown via the power button. I then logged into my grand parents account which has administrative privaleges. I then did not try to open up task manager, but tried to open up internet explorer. Internet explorer worked fine. I then tried to open up control panel, but because of the fact that System Tool 2011 has infected my grand parents pc, many administrative aspects were blocked. I then did a google search as to what System Tool 2011 was. I came across a site that gave information on how to remove System Tool 2011. The site is as follows.

    http://www.helpmyos.com/t2311-how-to-remove-system-tool-2011

I then printed the web page. Soon after that, the pc that my grand parents use had a bsod occur. It was from a common program; I think it was NTFS or something that was a short program name. After the bsod, I restarted the pc, and this was the only bsod to occur in this entire chain of events towards this problem. I then tried to follow the instructions as to what I printed from earlier. It took several tries to end the process tree of the System Tool 2011 program that was indicated, but I got it. Though, I have to say, that if I tried to open up the task manager after successfully ending the process tree of the specified random process name associated with System Tool 2011, the pc would freeze. So, I did not try to open up the task manager after successfully ending the random process. I then followed the instructions, and when I tried to run the TFC.exe program, the pc would freeze. I then tried a few more times after restarting the pc. I gave up trying to run the TFC.exe in normal mode, and will try later to run it in safe mode. I then tried to run other scans on my grand parents pc, as the instructions indicated. I ran quick scans on, including additional programs, avast, malwarebytes, adaware and windows defender. These four programs my grand parents pc did not have on before. All came up with nothing except for the malwarebytes scan, which found two things. I then deleted the things found in the scan. I should take this point to indicate that my grand parents pc had no antivirus on it, that is why I put on avast on their pc. My grand parents only had a firewall active on their pc, Zone Alarm. I then tried to run TFC.exe again, but the freeze occured again. I then restarted the pc and pressed F5 to bring up the option to choose safe mode. I then logged in to the same account in safe mode, and ran the TFC.exe program. Well, the program ran through smoothly with no interuptions or freezes. I then restarted after the scan and logged in normally. I then tried to open up task manager to see if the random process name would come up. Well, the pc froze, and for several attempts the task manager did not show any process that would be associated with System Tool 2011. I then got on the internet and downloaded HiJackThis and Spy Bot Search and Destroy, on my grand parents pc. I then ran scans on both of them but the pc froze. I then restarted the pc and tried to run scans on Windows Defender and adaware for overnight full scans. In the morning, the pc was frozen. I restared the pc and logged in and noticed that in the list of programs in the start menu, that System Tool 2011 was still present. Though, there was nothing in the folder, I deleted the folder. I then looked in the main drive to look under the program folder for all users to see if there was a folder for System Tool 2011. I did not find a folder with those exact name, but I did find a folder that the name seem very similiar to the process that I was constantly ending in the task manager earlier. I opened the folder and found two files. One of the files had the symbol icon for System Tool 2011, but was on a different name. I deleted the folder and its contents. I then tried to run some more scans, which is where I am at now.

To conclude, for my pc, it is running fine, as long as I do not try to access the network within my house. I am running six scans, all full runs, on my pc; Spy Bot, HiJackThis, Avast, Windows Defender, Ad-Aware, and Registry Mechanic, on my pc.

On my Grand Parents pc, I am running two full scans on separete programs at the same time. The reason I am doing it this way is to be cautious because my grand parents pc is an old version.

On my laptop for the house, there is no issue that has come up at this time, (thank god for that, sheesh).

So, to come down to what I specifically need help, in regards to the events thuroughly explained above.

I need additional help in guidance on what to do, what specifically to download, in order to clean my Grand Parents pc, and to make my Household Network work correctly again.

Please reply to this thread with any help that could assist me in this matter, I will be checking up on this thread daily for help.

OK, thanks for the link, it will be monitored by our expert in that forum. Once you have finished with the Malware issues return to this forum and continue with this thread if there are other issues, or close it as resolved from the thread tools tab in the top right hand corner of the first post.
