My desktop uses Windows 98, and I have a laptop with Windows Vista.

For about four years I have had intell32.exe on my desktop computer. I have tried an infinite number of times to get rid of it, and I can't. This past year, my computer has decided to not even boot at all unless in safe mode.

I have decided to buy en external hard drive, move all of my important files to this drive, and then load a new version of Windows onto my desktop. Hopefully this will get rid of intell32.exe.

I want to know how I can get my computer to boot up again so I can move these files to my new external hard drive. In safe mode, I can't get the computer to recognize new hardware.

When the computer boots up, the letters look a little broken, like some of the pixels are missing. When the Windows logo appears, there are vertical lines running through it. When the desktop finally appears, there is only an hourglass, or a mouse pointer with a rectangular box of some color. No icons, taskbar or anything.

    Please help me.
