i have a compac desk top and in the lower tool bar i have a printer icon ... which means i have a job waiting to print i have gone in and cleared the printer of jobs to be printed ... i turn on my printer and it prints garbled printing it would be ok if it was a cheap printer but this a sublimation printer so the ink and paper are not cheap ... this all started happening with my husband he has no idea how this happened or why... i know it is not my printer i have hooked this up to my lap top and it works fine... also he was using corel draw 3 at the time that it went nuts... i have tried everything so until i get this fixed my business is at a stand still

Hi llmatheson, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

When you boot up the computer does the print job icon remain in the system tray or does this issue only occur after you print something?

When you cancel the print job have you turned off the printer, disconnected the printer from the machine, reconnected the printer and powered it back up to see if it still prints a garbled message?

Try restarting the Print Spooler service and see if that effects anything. To restart the service click Start< Run and type services.msc and hit enter. Scroll down until you find the print spooler service, highlight it and then click the Restart the service button.

What is the name of the printer that the computer is printing from? I would try installing the latest driver for the printer and seeing if that will make any difference.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

Try downloading the 6.50 version of your printer driver from here, Epson Stylus Pro 4800 Drivers.

Install the driver, reboot the computer and see if you notice any difference in functionality of the printer.

Hi llmatheson, I agree with Evan regarding Drivers. I have 2 Epson Stylus CX5500 MFC inkjet printers. One started printing garbage and I had to completely uninstall it from the computer.
I removed all traces of it from the comp, then re-installed the latest Drivers and it's OK. Apparently the original setup got corrupted and this was the way to fix it. Cheers Neil.:D

    Try this:
    1. Click Start > Run..., type in:
      services.msc
      and press [Enter].

    2. In the right pane of the "Services" window, right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Stop ".

(Leave this window open for a minute so we can restart the service).

    3. Click Start > Run..., type in:
      cmd
      and press [Enter].

    4. At the command prompt, type in, (or copy and paste):
      del /f /q c:\windows\system32\spool\printers\*.*
      and press [Enter].

    5. Close the command window.

    6. Back in the right pane of the "Services" window, right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Start ".

    7. Close the Services window.

At 6. of Spywaredr's list, I think that should read "start" instead of "stop ".
